"The best way to cheer yourself is to try to cheer someone else up"
Greetings to you. So this is it, the start of a wonderful journey where you and I will go on an epic adventure and make new friends, discuss ideas, share opinions, and just be happy. In this stressful and demanding world, people have no time to themselves and I see everyone around me in a constant state of hurry and needlessly worrying about nothing in particular. And I for one love to make people laugh, hence I have decided to start this blog where I will, with al mostly talk about what's going on in the world and how I feel about it. I will also write what others might want to share with the world and hopefully reading this will make someone's day, even you :)
Alright then, It has been an epic week here (I'm a college student btw), lots of new faces in college as it was induction week for the freshmen this year. So the campus was packed with anxious students and even more anxious parents. And after the usual hustle-bustle, life is back to normal, at least that's what I thought. the day after induction week ended, we were informed that we will be writing 5 tests over a span of three days, add to that loads of assignments with your usual prep time so all the happiness went out the window,so I decided in the middle of the night that I will start this blog and immediately put the message out to people on a special community where unexpectedly I was bombarded with responses, which was even more encouraging and somehow I have gotten through the week. Now let's talk, in particular, order about what went on in the world the past week.
So as I'm writing this, the US has witnessed two separate incidents of mass shootings in 24 hours, both of which were hate crimes, and I also had one person write to me telling that Christendom is under threat from a Muslim invasion of sorts and the West has fallen. While I do understand where both of these instances are coming from, but I feel that in this day and age, religion has become a farce and is being used to beguile people into scared and warring factions. No offense to anyone but if we just think about it, Any ideas of any religion don't in any way direct its believers to go to war with each other does it? most of them just purport the idea of peacefulness and living together in harmony. Let's take Hinduism for example, most of its ideals and rituals are based on some scientific phenomenon, which the people of that time failed to understand, hence the rituals. Let us take fasting. There is a practice of fasting for a day from dawn to dusk, where you must not even drink water. This was to remove all toxins in our bodies, but it was disguised as a practice to appease the gods. So its the power of narrative that can completely make a person believe in anything you want him or her to.all I'm trying to tell you is that we must make a conscious effort to distinguish reality from deception and not be forced to believe what the narrative shows. I'm not trying to get political but it is better if I stay away from these topics as the no of people who are going to bombard me for this, is enormous, but I don't care, this was something that needed to be out there so that's that.
It dawned on me that no situation comes your way that cant is handled by you. It's just that we need to find a reason to get through. And also the fact that you waste your time by being sad about your situations is an epic waste of time. I say this because frankly, I have in the great Pitbull's words "Been there, done that".A person messaged me saying that she felt like crap, literally. And I didn't feel like prodding her so all I want to tell her is that no matter what it is that you are going through, find a reason to smile and you will be through. also, you have this place so feel free to speak your heart out and we can make a story out of it here.
Another message I got made me sad and again reinforced the fact that life is cruel in its way. I won't discuss the details here or this will become a feels train rather than a blog so what I learned that everyone is going through something bad and in some cases its not imaginable but what we must learn is that no matter what happens we must always look upwards and move forward, gain strength from inside and hold on,it will all make sense one day. These are not my words i tell you, My old man said this when i had failed an examination.i had expected a lashing but he sat me down and made me understand. That's when I realized that you truly understand your father after it's over. So if you have father go ahead and hug him because he is the man who made you a man(Or woman, Gender equality you know.Bad joke but still you get it right). Always remember that your parent's decisions may be wrong, but never their intent. So cherish them while you still can.
Speaking of parents, my mom is super cool you know. Out of the blue, she asked me about my friends and I told her that they were fine. Then she asked me if I had a girlfriend to which I replied in the negative. She went on to banter me in all ways possible. Honestly, I haven't had much luck in that area so ladies, you know how it is, Single and Ready to Mingle :). Jokes apart though, one guy messaged saying that he was in his senior year in high school and there was this girl whom he had a crush on and wanted to ask her out for prom. As I mentioned before, I am no expert, but it is also a fact that single people are the best when it comes to advising. So I will tell you what my mom told me, brother, Better an "Oh well" rather than a "What if". Take the chance and ask her out man. Always be yourself, because it's not worth anything if you are changing yourself for anyone or anything for that matter. Anyways, good luck brother, hopefully, its a happy ending ;). Also another guy just met a wonderful lady at a festival and feels happy.Love is in the air i guess, who knows maybe ill get lucky too. Anyway, kudos to him and good luck too :)
I love reading novels I prefer novels over my course material even during exams xD(Mom and Dad, if you are reading this don't be mad). I mostly read fiction, currently reading Tom Clancy. Lovely I tell you, once you start you can't stop really. And if you guys have any suggestions then please do let me know. And I love gaining new skills and I can proudly say that I have become somewhat of a decent coder. Speaking of skills, a friend of mine just graduated art school and is excited about the future. I will post his artwork if possible but looking at him made me excited about the future too but then I realized that the in the near future(2 hours to be exact) I have a debugging quiz which, to be honest, did curb the enthusiasm a little, okay a lot actually(Programmers will get the joke).
Alright, then that's it for this week. This was my first blog and I know it that quality, do write to me in the comments or mail and I promise to improve as will you hopefully.
Special shoutout to pegasus1916 on special request.I dont know where to tag you but here it is.Hope you are having a banger of a day
Cheers.
